The Y- CHROMOSOME TEST determines relationship through the parental line. This test is used in cases where a paternity test cannot be performed. The Y-Chromosome test is very useful determining if suspected male relatives are scientifically related. The Y-Chromosome is present only in males and is passed down from father to son to grandson. This test can be used to test male cousins, nephews and uncles, grandfather and grandson, etc. to see if they are related through their paternal line. Males who have a common male ancestor will have the same Y-Chromosome.
